The Ambassador

Don Augusto Ruffo di Calabria, Prince of Scilla, was born in Turin on 1 October 1955. He is married to H.S.H. Princess Irma Cristiana of Windisch-Graetz. They have three children.

Augusto Ruffo di Calabria attended the Moncalieri “Real Collegio Carlo Alberto” Military College and the “Margara” Scientific High School in Turin. An entrepreneur with an established career of over forty years in the commodities and raw materials sector (aluminium, ferrochrome, cast iron, stainless steel, etc.) on the international market, in which he continues to be actively involved to this day.

In December 1985, he was admitted to the Order of Malta as a Knight of Honour and Devotion.

In October 2012, Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Kenya, and in September 2013, he was appointed Permanent Observer of the Order of Malta to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) based in Nairobi. In Kenya, he was responsible for the development of several humanitarian projects, including the construction of wells to ensure water supply to the Wamba Hospital.

In February 2017, he was appointed Ambassador of the Sovereign Order to the Republic of Malta. On 16 February 2017 he presented his Credentials to the President of the Republic of Malta Marie Louise Coleiro Preca.
