The Embassy celebrates the Feast of the Patron Saint of the Order of Malta, Saint John the Baptist with a Solemn Mass at St. John’s Co-Cathedral followed by a reception on the terrace of St John’s Cavalier attended by the Head of State of Malta and various dignitaries. In previous years the Ambassador Augusto Ruffo di Calabria has always amalgamated this with a cultural or artistic event in order to raise funds, such as the Malta Weekend in 2018 attended by international guests and personalities in collaboration with Tiffany & Co which raised funds for the Order of Malta’s St John the Baptist Hospital in Rome; the String Ensemble from Teatro alla Scala di Milano with international pianist Gile Bae at the Mediterranean Conference Centre where proceeds went towards the President of Malta’s Community Chest Fund Foundation and most recently last year with a performance at the Manoel Theatre by the renowned mime Ennio Marchetto again raising funds for the President’s Charity.

The Embassy also collaborates with various NGOs and artists to host musical soirees and art exhibitions throughout the year, always with a philanthropic aim.
